Latina Leader Spotlight: Stefni Valencia

Q: Introduce yourself! Where do you live and what is your ethnic background?

A: Hello, I am Rockera Rebelde Stefni Valencia I am based in Los Angeles.

My ethnic background is I am Mexican and Pueblo (Native American).

Q: Tell us about what you’re creating:

A: I am a Spanish Rock singer and songwriter. I was raised by strong rebellious women, and they showed me the importance of having the courage to raise my voice in a male dominated world. My newest single, “Rebeldes”, is an anthem of hope and love for all the rebeldes out there to not be afraid to raise their voice, because “calladitas no nos vemos más bonitas.”

Q: What inspired you to start?

A: Music is my love. It helps me connect with my feelings and communicate with the world. Music honestly saved my life.

Q: Who is your Latina role model?

A: That is such a tough question I have a few, the women in my life that I am so close to are incredible warriors they inspire me so much and have helped make me the woman I am today. In the world of music my Latina told model is Linda Rondstadt. She is a singer that broke barriers for Latinas and women. She crossed genres which really showed me as a Latina, and a singer songwriter that I could do anything.

Q: What do you want other Latina creators to know?

A: I want other Latina Creators to know is be patient, and do it because you love it. Do it because it brings you so much joy that it makes you feel good at the end of day. When you finally make that connection with your craft, it shows, and there is nothing that anyone could say or do that could bring you down.

Q: Any upcoming big announcements we should stay tuned for?

A: I am working on new music to be released this year part of my album Mariposas De Fuego, in June my band Stefni Valencia & El Fuego will bring Fuego Fridays Live Sessions. I also just launched a clothing line called Rockohólicos Apparel a clothing line from a rocker heart to your rocker heart. It is only open on Wednesdays and there are new designs monthly.

Q: How can people support/keep up with you?

A: On Social Media @MsStefniV, my website www.stefnivalencia.com, or YouTube.com/stefnivalencia.
