How to Light up Any Room You Walk Into!

I think it is safe to say that if you’ve found your way here you are a showstopper, or at the very least a Latina Creator! So, it’s only natural that you would be curious how to light up a room when you want others to see and honor your creations. Some of you, tons I’d guess, already know how to do this and you may not even realize how it happens you just know you got IT. I’m here to break it all down for everyone so you can harness your power of attraction and light up any room you walk into.

Let’s start with the personalization of this blog, I have always been a performer—a paid stage actress by the age of 8, a singer trained in classical opera, then a Radio Disney DJ in middle school, etc etc fast forward 21ish years give or take and here I am still shining. Now let’s be clear, you don’t have to be a performer to know how to light up a room—but if you have been then you’d know the feeling of having all eyes on you. For better or worse, when the literal spotlight is on you it’s sink or swim—nail a performance enough times and you’ll never want that feeling to go away. Except maybe on occasional off days.

Here is how to illuminate others with your aura in 3 easy steps:

  1. Recognize and embrace every part of you. A lot of not wanting to be seen comes from the fear of judgement. You have to let that go. Easier said than done I get it, but next time you feel like you may be in a room of “big shots” remember you are worthy of taking up space and your existence to others is a gift. That is just a fact! Everyone came out of their mother and everyone will well you get the rest. So LIVE out LOUD while you can. And by out loud I mean by radiating outwards the self-love you’ve cultivated inside.

    • Still struggling with this one? Try this. Imagine yourself as being surrounded in yellow glowing light before you enter a space. Set the intention to light up the room and see what unfolds naturally from there. Only good vibes can enter your personal space and any potential negativity is not yours to take on. Your light is yours.

  2. Show up you as your best-self. Personally, my best-self is my most authentic self. It’s the self that I envision others meeting—regardless of the circumstances. What does that mean? If you feel your BEST in cozy comfy clothes wear that. If you like to rock a professional fit, please do. Don’t base your aesthetic off-of your surroundings. Assimilation is so 1960s amirite? I don’t know about ya’ll but personally I’ve been in plenty of work environments where I’m the most dressed up in the office and guess what I don’t “tone it down”. I live it up, and when I look my best my work is a reflection of that and my light shines!

  3. Finally: set the intention to be present, and curious. When you go into a situation with an open-mind, and an attitude to discover things about your surroundings, people notice that! While I know for sure that no one is thinking about you that hard, because they’re busy thinking about themselves, when you’re engaged in a conversation or just really soaking in the moment people see that.

There’s something about someone being in their own zone that is magnetic. I once had a lady take a picture of me at a restaurant because I was dining alone and I paid the mariachi band to play tú sólo tú and was singing along. She said I just had to take a picture because you looked so happy! Little did she know I was having a terrible awful no good day and was forcing myself to be in the moment. Which I do often—it helps. A true testament that even without trying, when you are true to yourself and are present you will light up the room!!!

So that’s all folks, that’s the tea! Try these tips the next time you’re ready to shine your light and invite in the magic.
