Q: What is your name and the name of your business?

A: My name is Jazmine Pather, COO of Photo Booth International where our mission is to help people start their own photo booth rental business. I work alongside my husband and business partner, Josh.

Q: What is your ethnicity and where do you currently live?

A: I am a proud first generation Mexican American. I currently live in Rockwall, TX but I was born and raised in Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas. (That's my hood!)

Q: What or who inspires you?

A: My parents definitely inspire me. They sacrificed so much to get here and give us an opportunity to make something of ourselves so they are my driving force in everything that I do. They have taught me what it means to work hard and be proud of where I come from.

Q: Why did you choose to become an entrepreneur?

A: Deep down I knew that I was meant to be more than just a pharmacy technician and I was very unhappy at my pharmacy job. When the opportunity came up for me to join my husband in the business, I decided to just go for it. I knew that it wouldn't be easy but nothing worthwhile is easy. I'm proud to say that our business was recently ranked 63rd fastest growing company in Texas by INC 5000 Series.

Q: What does  being a Latina business owner mean to you?

A: It means breaking stigmas, showing the world that we hold power and that we are paving our own path to success.

It also means letting go of any limiting beliefs that come from being a minority. Stop saying things like "I don't belong here" or "I'm not educated enough".

Q: What message do you want to share with other Latinas?

A: Often we think that our struggles as minorities are what limit us when in reality they are what give us our power.

I think it's also vital for us to support one another instead of criticising or bringing each other down. Together we can make the greatest impact on our communities.
